Do you suffer from ‘Complex Syndrome’?

It’s another beautiful day in paradise. You fulfilled your dream of leaving your old life behind and pursued the dream. You’re several weeks or months into your new utopia in Punta Cana and you start to wonder ‘now what?’.

You’re surrounded by an abundance of apartments, with a constant churn of AirBnB visitors coming and going on a daily basis. You’ve had the ‘where are you from?’ conversation more times than you can remember and at the moment you think I’ve made a friend, they’re gone. Back to square one.

The same applies to the people you’re likely to meet when you’re out and about. How can you distinguish between vacationers and those residing in Punta Cana?

It’s a cycle I call ‘Complex Syndrome’. The isolating feeling that creeps up on you after everyone around you continuously leaves. You struggle to make any real connection whether that’s outside or inside your complex. There’s no sense of neighbourhood or seeing the same faces every day which is something you’re used to back home. Those you see by the pool are in couples or families who keep to themselves, which can make you feel somewhat invisible.  You’re left sitting there wondering ‘was moving here worth it?’ because this doesn’t feel like much fun.

This is what I lived through, but despite that, I do know of couples who have experienced this kind of isolation. Living in a complex big or small can be mentally tough especially when you know nobody or you don’t speak the same language.

If you’re reading this and you feel this resonates with your current situation, then you should seriously consider joining one of the Punta Cana Project events. Skip months of feeling lonely and fast track yourself to a community within weeks, if not days. Helping you overcome that feeling of isolation is one of the main reasons behind why I started Punta Cana Project. I know only too well how loneliness can affect your mental health. That’s why I’ve made it my mission to try and help everyone that moves to Punta Cana integrate faster into the community. Of course, you’ll integrate in a fun and enjoyable environment where you’ll meet like-minded people.

This is why Punta Cana Project exists.
